Introduction
In conveying the written or spoken word to another language, Logos recognises above all the intellectual process and skill of the human translator - quite simply our most valuable asset. Whilst tools are almost always employed, it depends crucially on the suitability, skill and experience of those human resources who are assigned to convey technical accuracy, content meaning, cultural acceptance - all key factors in achieving a high quality translation result.

Logos serves the language community
Logos goes that extra mile to provide the translation community with freely available resources to achieve the highest possible quality standards: the Logos Virtual Reference Library, proprietary translation memory tools all serve to illustrate why Logos continues to be unique within our industry.

Our philosophy behind these free-of-charge facilities is to invest back into the translation community much more generally and our resulting profile has put us in regular contact with some of the best translators in the business.

Translation Quality Assurance
How does Logos assure finest quality in translation?
  • Selection of the best translators in the business dedicated to client projects in the longer term;
  • These translators are mother-tongue, based in the target country and proven subject specialists in client projects/products/formats;
  • All translation will be reviewerd by a Senior Editor who is responsible for overall quality control, consistency and cross-consistency together with implementation of all style guides, check lists and translation-specific client instructions;
  • Liaison with client in-country reviewers for the purpose of agreeing stylistic and terminological preferences prior to, during and after first pass translation through to final approval;
  • The dedication of a skilled project management team on a long-term basis to promote product and client knowledge. The team will be responsible for the central and streamlined co-ordination of all activities worldwide;
  • Deployment of tools such as Logosys (our web-based enterprise-wide workflow and knowledge management platform), content management systems and translation tools with continuous maintenance of resulting databases and archives. Technology is applied to unify/integrate all processes. Our web-based technology delivers up-to-date workflow, instructions and all related data to our global team in real-time. Logosys, for example, empowers Web-based distributed access to workflow in real-time, all glossaries, appropriate reference materials and translation memories to ensure consistent translation and effective project management;

  • Deployment and maintenance of a Human Resource Module within Logosys for real-time status report on available human resources, skill levels, subject specialities and projects on-going;
  • Consistent application of defined procedures as set out in our Quality Manual and specific instructions, as agreed with each client prior to project launch.
