The Logos Virtual Reference Library
Quite often we are asked by prospective
clients how Logos is different from other companies providing
similar services. For a quick answer, one only needs to browse
through the growing list of linguistic offerings that we make
available to the global translation community completely free
of charge via our Web site.
We recognized very early on that our most valuable assets
are, and always will be, the translators. Therefore, it behooves
us to make every effort possible to support them by providing
reference and training materials. To this end, Logos contributes
a not insignificant amount to fund the development and maintenance
of these resources and, even if you’re not a translator, you
may find a number of these very useful:

updated and corrected on line by our network of professional

requests from all over the world, for translations that are
not in the dictionary, enabling the users to make suggestions
and translations of other navigator's requests.

Children's
Dictionary
The Children’s Dictionary is compiled in more than 130 languages,
including English, the main European languages, Albanian,
Romanian, Arabic, Serbian, Chinese and Japanese, as well as
a number of Italian dialects (spoken in Lombardy, the Veneto
and Friuli regions, Sardinia, etc.) and Latin.
Besides translating a word, the dictionary also illustrates
its use, lists the various definitions and gives a clear pronunciation.
Children's
Library
The Children’s Library not only brings together and makes
available fables, poetry and stories selected for our little
ones, but also provides for the texts to be heard as spoken
by native speakers. This is also an ongoing development for
an initiative that is expanding with the addition of new texts
and language versions, as well as increasing numbers of audio
files.
Universal
Conjugator
Verba is a Logos language tool, available to anyone who may
care to use it. Verba allows you to view all the forms of
a chosen verb - inflections, tenses, moods, voices… It is
not necessary to know the infinitive form to use it, any conjugated
form will do as a starting point.
Logos Verba also offers a short treatise on Chinese verbs
put together by Sinologos, the Logos team specialized in Oriental
languages.
Crossword
The crossword facility enables you to query the Logos database
for partially completed words.
Anagrams
Anagrams are created by using all the letters of a word to
create a new one. For example spot produces tops, pots, post
and stop, etc. Click on a chosen word, from the results of
your query, to verify the contextual meaning in the Wordtheque.
