www.multilingual.com 18/07/2000
The LOGOS Group has published first half results for the year 2000. Sales
amounted to 8 million euros, an increase of 22.5% over the 6.5 million euros for
the same period in 1999, when growth registered around 12%. The gross operating
margin remained steady at around 24%.
The Group attributes the growth to a variety of different factors, such as its
expansion in the export marketplace, offering more services and an increased
demand. The Group has consolidated its presence with the acquisition of new
companies in Belgium, Spain, France, Holland and Norway.
LOGOS now has a wider range of services available to high growth sectors, such
as e-business ventures. There has also been a significant increase in demand for
the localization of Web sites, portals and e-commerce platforms and the new
Internet-based Application Service Provider (ASP) business model.
The Group is now focusing on the consolidation of its ASP model. The system
enables clients to access a complete and fully interactive Internet-based
outsourcing platform for the development, reuse, maintenance and retrieval of
"knowledge," including workflow, multilingual document, knowledge management,
terminology and translation memory tools.
Forecasts for the year 2000 have set a target of 18 million euros just for
multilingual information services. The total output during 1999 was
approximately 12 million euros.
