The Logos Group announced a joint venture between the creator of Wordfast and the Logos Group.
Wordfast, designed by Yves Champollion, is a computer-aided system which speeds up the translation of long documents and enhances the consistency of the language and terminology used. Wordfast can now be freely downloaded from the Web site.

Logos will own 51% of the new venture; Champollion Wordfast Ltd. will own 49%. This acquisition complements the Group's existing proprietary computer-aided translation tool, Mneme, which is for Logos’ network use only.
Mneme is a Web-based translation memory database, which is fully integrated in the Logos production process and its workflow and content management system, Logosys.

Champollion Wordfast Ltd. will concentrate on developing and distributing Wordfast.
Yves Champollion developed his system based on 20 years' experience. Champollion is one of the most famous names in language research.
Yves Champollion's ancestor, Jean-François Champollion, masterminded the translation of the hieroglyphics of ancient Egypt by studying and deciphering the various texts on the Rosetta Stone.
