Logos adds multilingual children's dictionary
www.multilingual.com, 10/01/2001
The Logos Group, an operator in the management of multilingual content and now
active in publishing, has launched a free multilingual dictionary for children
(accessible at http://www.logos.it/bimbi). The Children's Dictionary is a useful
tool that will encourage children to become familiar with foreign languages and
learn basic words. It is compiled in more than 50 languages, including English,
the main European languages, Albanian, Romanian, Arabic, Serbian, Chinese and
Japanese, as well as a number of Italian dialects and Latin. Besides translating
a word, the dictionary also illustrates its use, lists the various definitions
and gives a clear pronunciation.
The Children's Dictionary is an offshoot of the Logos Dictionary, with some
eight million words in 176 languages. Like the Logos Dictionary, the Children's
Dictionary is a "living" dictionary that grows thanks to the contributions of
users.
